We all wear so many masks. We wear them to fit a role: mother, sister, wife, good worker. We wear them to protect us in social situations: good girl, bad girl, tough girl, sweet girl.
For so many of us we hide true selves because we’re afraid that the truth of who we are will not be acceptable. That if others, even those who we trust with our love, were to see who we really are they would turn from us, that we will be seen not as angels but as monsters.
We often keep others from seeing who we truly are because we don’t feel safe. We feel like we’ll be attacked or criticised – judged for our shortcomings or even ridiculed for our confidence or our bigness.
And to that, I say, so what?
The moment you disarm the power of their judgment is the moment you take it back and make it yours.
Because people will always judge and they’ll always criticise but it has never anything to do with you, and everything to do with them.
And to believe that they don’t have battles they’re fighting of their own behind closed doors is crazy, because they all do.
We all do.
Letting others see you in your truth, light and dark, is the pathway to falling in love with yourself and the permission to fully step into the vision of your future, no matter where you want it to go.
And through this humble blog, I would like you to know, You are not your struggle.
Our life is our message. Our life IS our purpose.
We all have a fear of being seen, but this, not a weakness.
Showing up as your authentic self, VULNERABLE, and REAL is a source of strength.
For you AND for others to demonstrate that anything is possible.
Use your wisdom to drive you forward instead of hold you back.
Be proud of who you are in all of your imperfection. It has shaped you into the amazing person you are today.
You are loved.
Allow yourself to be seen.
